01 - Format the VideoTable of contents
From WwwFirst we need to format the DVD video. All DVD video are in MPEG-2 format. I used avidemux. On Ubuntu to install avidemux sudo apt-get install avidemux
From the menus start the avidemux. Load the video Select a preconfiged format. In the "Auto" menu select the format you want, I used "DVD". Adjust the format. The default DVD format was PAL, I had to adjust the parameters to format it for NTCS. The setting Avidemux uses when configuring for a dvd are, Video: DVD (lavc) Audio: MP2 (TwoLane) Format: MPEG-PS (A + V) Video Resolution 720(wide) x 480(tall) Add to the job queue (In the version I had used on Ubuntu 9.04 when you deleted items out of the work queue, you had to close and reopen the window to see the item go away.) Run the job. Problem formats, sometimes the video conversion have problems and may crash. The avidemux warned me about the problem and informed me about what else I could do to convert the video. ? Where do you select the destination for the video file ? |
